8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / 4 WAYS TO DRIVE REVENUE GROWTH THROUGH DIGITAL SALES ACCELERATION

Presented by: John Lefferts and Matt Essick
Location:
Bayou C
Company: Assurance
Session Title: 4 Ways to Drive Revenue Growth through Digital Sales Acceleration

Session Description:

Has your agency kept pace in the move towards digital offerings? The life insurance sales journey has historically been one of the most painful to buy and difficult to sell. BGAs, financial institutions, agents and advisors spend a large percentage of their time focused on administrative work – not new sales opportunities or servicing the client. Moreover, case designers, wholesalers and producers today spend hours of wasted time rekeying and updating information across multiple different platforms. The sector is plagued by sales inefficiency.

Join John Lefferts, 30 year veteran and former CEO of AXA Advisors, along with Bill Unrue, former CEO of Anonymizer and a leader in the San Diego VC community, as they cover 4 ways to drive revenue growth through digital sales acceleration. Determine if your agency fits the profile of tomorrow’s technology enabled agency model and if not, what the next steps are to get there. Learn how the move to digital is not only a must have for current and future sales success, but also an expectation to recruit and retain millennials. Millennials want the latest digital technologies and platforms and they want to sell for the companies that own these tools. Wherever you are in your 2018 plan to digitize – this presentation is essential for learning about the current InsurTech landscape, where your plan is on or off target and how digitizing is key to increasing your revenue.

Speaker Bio:

John is a financial services industry senior executive with 30+ years of experience. He began his career with AXA in San Diego rising to the top role as President and CEO of AXA Advisors in New York City serving 2.5 million households and $9 billion in revenues. As head of distribution, he transformed the field sales structure into a more efficient and effective model increasing productivity by over 20% to all time highs while significantly improving retention rates.

In 2012, John led PE-backed startup Lion Street Financial in Austin, TX from concept to launch creating a unique “Tribrid” distribution platform. After graduating triplet children from high school in 2014, John and his wife Dianne relocated back to their hometown of San Diego. Presented by: Eszylfie Taylor
Location:
Canal A
Company: The Taylor Method
Session Title: Simple Prospecting Tips to Build a Book of Business

Session Description:

In an industry filled with complex products and intangible goods, it’s our job to not only simplify the value proposition for our prospective clients, but to remember that the sale happens because of a relationship, not a robot or a brochure. Prospecting is a numbers game, but to truly convert prospects to clients, you have to incorporate a level of simplicity in your methods and shift your daily mindset.

Speaker Bio:

Eszylfie Taylor is the founder and president of Taylor Insurance and Financial Services located in the financial district of Pasadena, California, and serves as financial advisor to individuals, business owners, and high net worth families. He attended Concordia University on a basketball scholarship and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Prior to founding his own company, he was a standout financial advisor at New York Life, making Chairman’s Council and finishing his career there as the highest producing advisor in the history of the African American market.

Early on in his career, Mr. Taylor had a breakthrough that centered around how to improve his market and focus on solving problems, not selling products. Naturally, he built upon this and used his successes and failures as teaching tools that would contribute to the start of The Taylor Method, a sales process for financial advisors.

Mr. Taylor has been a Million Dollar Round Table Top of the Table producer since 2011, which places him in the top 1% of advisors worldwide. In 2015, he was the recipient of NAIFA’s Advisor Today Top 4 Under Forty award.

Through all the success, Eszylfie has continued to contribute to his community. Since 2003, his nonprofit, Future Stars, has been hosting a basketball camp for underserved youth in the community, instilling in them the tools he uses to achieve success: hard work, perseverance, integrity, and sacrifice.

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / POWER RECRUITING - A GAMA CHANGE FOR GROWTH

Presented by: Robert Krumroy
Location:
Bayou D
Company: Identity Branding
Session Title: Power Recruiting – A Game Changer For Growth!

Session Description:

Recruiting clients and client referrals increases retention by 61%. The problem? Very few clients are referred by advisors and even fewer clients offer referrals. It’s no wonder why few managers select hires from large numbers of quality candidates. Quality recruiting is far more dependent on significant candidate sourcing than interviewing skills. This session is a step-by-step process of how to set up a Power Recruiting Day that attracts the most and the best candidates for the career. It’s a “game changer” for agency growth.

Speaker Bio:

Robert Krumroy is the CEO and Founder of Identity Branding and e-Relationship.com. Often referred to as “America’s Prospecting Coach,” Krumroy is the author of 10 of the industry’s most frequently purchased books on prospect attraction. His prospecting and recruiting “made easy” model has been shared with hundreds of the leading insurance and financial services firms in the country since 1999. You may recognize him as a national main platform speaker at MDRT, NAIFA, WIFS and GAMA (multiple times).

Early in his career, Krumroy built and managed one of the nation’s 100 largest insurance and financial firms and was a Platinum Award winner in GAMA. Today, his Power Recruiting Day (introduced 2 years ago) has had dramatic success with over 70 agency events conducted in 2017 for the largest insurance companies in America. The information on how to orchestrate a Power Recruiting Day is invaluable to any manager who is focused on serious growth within their agency.

8:00 AM - 9:00 AM / A GAME-CHANGER THAT GIVES THE ADVISOR A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

Presented by: John Shull
Location:
Canal C
Company: Total Financial Picture
Session Title: A Game-Changer that Gives the Advisor a Competitive Advantage

Session Description:

The financial planning landscape is evolving rapidly, due both to regulatory changes and shifting demographics, as advisors retire. These trends have created a demand for a more transparent, value-driven client engagement process. It is clear that a well-defined engagement process will provide the advisor team with the highest probability of helping clients to reach their financial goals. This Session provides a description of a new and dynamic client engagement process, the Total Financial Picture. The Session describes how TFP works, the application of it through eight types of appointments, and the various coaching tools employed in the process.

Often, regardless of the level of experience an advisor brings to the table, very few clients have their total financial picture in order. Achieving this goal requires a holistic and comprehensive process. Total Financial Picture is the clearest, most cost effective, and simplest answer to help advisors succeed in placing the client’s total financial picture in order. Success in achieving comprehensive planning for clients will produce these benefits: improved client and advisor retention, increased advisor compensation, improved client satisfaction, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

For the past 16 years, John served as a financial advisor and frontline manager at First Command Financial Planning.

GAMA International created the First in Class Award in 2000 to recognize first-line leaders in the insurance, investment, and financial services industry who have led their agencies or firms to the number one position in their company during the preceding year. Recipients are nominated by their home offices, and each company determines the criteria it will use to select its nominee. Multiple nominees may be eligible for companies that segment distribution by market size or use a benchmark value proposition for their distribution systems. Companies are urged to nominate field leaders who excel as leaders in both their careers and their communities.

The Frontline Excellence Award, which debuted in 2010, recognizes field leaders who have shown exemplary performance in their current frontline positions and are considered to be emerging leaders in their companies. The award is named after the late Brian Early of Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company, an especially active GAMA member who had a powerful passion for helping emerging leaders grow and develop, and helped create the association’s Leaders of Today and Tomorrow (LoTT). The recipients of this award serve to remind us where we will find the next generation of industry legends.
